Comfort

I take comfort in my Divine Identity;

I am Divine Love and Understanding.

In the wake of loss, I find comfort in my all-encompassing Divine Identity. A friend, family member, loving pet, or even a compassionate stranger uses Divine Love and Understanding to comfort and support me. I find comfort in a warm hug, a listening ear, or simply the presence of another.

God is the Divine Love and Understanding each of us use to feel empathy and compassion with and for each other. When I am feeling sad, I open my heart and mind to the timeless reality of Divine Love and Understanding.   Countless, willing beings all around me intentionally decide to use Divine Love – the Principle of Love – to love me. I am grateful that they choose to show up when I need them. I receive and rejoice with a light and grateful heart.

Mentors

Mentoring enriches my spiritual journey.

Spiritual mentorship is a precious gift that I can give to myself – whether I am choosing to serve as a mentor or be a mentee. Regardless of the role, mentor and mentee bless each other in their spiritual journey together.

I am grateful for the coaches, teachers, and counselors who have mentored me on my spiritual path. By building a relationship of trust, modeling the use spiritual Principles and Laws, and sharing open-heartedly from their own successes and struggles, these people helped me help myself raise my consciousness.

Mentorship enriches the mentor as well. Helping others helps me to clarify and reinforce my own spiritual understanding and beliefs. It also encourages me to be mindful that I am always demonstrating who and What I am.

Desires

I pursue my desires with faith, knowing all things are possible with Divine Ideas.

Unity author H. Emilie Cady wrote in Lessons in Truth: “Desire in the heart is always God tapping at the door of your consciousness with His infinite supply–a supply that is forever useless unless there be demand for it. … the thing you desire is not only for you, but has already been started toward you out of the heart of God.”[i] What is God’s Supply? Divine Ideas!

I recognize the desires of my heart are more than wishful thinking. My purpose is manifested out of the desires of my heart. Some may be long-term goals, requiring years of study, focus, and actions. Otherss may include helping a friend who is experiencing a serious challenge. Following this inner knowing to serve, I know I am divinely supported by Divine Ideas. I use my Power of Will to choose the right words to say and actions to take in conjunction with the Powers of Understanding and Wisdom. I pursue my heartfelt desires, for they are my Spiritual Nature pushing at my heart to do more and be more.

Grace

I claim my Divine Identity,

I freely give grace to myself and others.

Grace as defined by Merriam-Webster is “unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification.” In Unity, “divine assistance” is not something handed out by God, a divine Being that judges us. “Divine Assistance” is the Divine Ideas we already are. We have all the Divine Ideas there ever were, are or ever will be because our minds are infolded in God-Mind.

Grace is not something granted to us by God, grace is what we freely give to ourselves and others based on the Divine Idea of Benevolence. We use the Divine Idea of Benevolence for all acts of kindness and the disposition to do good. Grace is when we see beyond our own errors and the errors of others.

When I am in error thinking, I change my mind by benevolently perceiving my own Divinity. When I see error in someone else, I choose to their Divinity. In order to live gracefully, it helps to remember what the writer of Philippians 4:8 wrote, “Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”  I claim my Divine Identity, I freely give grace to myself and others.

Heaven on Earth

I claim my Divinity, I experience Heaven on earth.

Heaven and earth are not places; they represent two states of mind. Heaven is the ideal state of consciousness – the realm of pure Divine Ideas, while earth is the state of our relative, changing consciousness which is made up of thought forms.  As we claim our Divinity – the realm of pure Divine Ideas – we more easily manifest and experience those Divine Ideas as higher thoughts in our relative consciousness – heaven on earth.

Meditation and prayer are key to my dwelling in Heaven – the realm of pure Divine Ideas. Allowing earth – my relative mind to merge into the one Mind, dissolving into the depths of Infinite Possibilities – this is Heaven on earth – experiencing Divine Ideas as higher thoughts.

Cradling a sleeping child; sharing an evening with close friends; investing time in prayer. I am at peace and remember my Divine Identity. During these moments I experience true oneness. There is no sense of separation between myself and others, between myself and the world. This is Heaven on earth – experiencing Divine Ideas as higher thoughts.

I breathe and relax into the wonder of God’s love and peace. Right where I am now, I claim my Divinity and I experience Heaven on earth.

Guidance

 Using my Divine Wisdom and Understanding, I spiritually guide my life.

Divine Understanding and Divine Wisdom are two of my Twelve Powers. Understanding is used to know; Wisdom compares and contrasts what I know. I use these Powers to know what to think, say and do.

When I forget these Truths about myself, I overlook my Divine Identity. I see only my outer, physical features and the ever changing world around me. I may feel lost and confused as I rely more and more on my senses.  I am rudderless and I do not know how to effectively guide and direct myself.

When this happens, I must stop and remember I am spiritual Beingness; I am Divine! I re-claim my awareness of my Divine Identity and ground myself in the Powers of Understanding and Wisdom.  I comprehend my Divine Nature more and more. I let go of limiting ideas and habits based on my senses that no longer serve me. Using my Divine Wisdom and Understanding, I spiritually guide my life knowing what to think, say and do.

Compassion

I express Divine Love and compassion.

As I give, so I receive. By choosing to help a fellow traveler on the road of life, I make a difference for them as well as for myself. I express Divine Love.

I may recall a time when another person saw my pain or dilemma and reached out; a parent, a friend, teacher, coach, or even a stranger stepped forward to help me. As I think back on those times, I realize that in some way they helped me change my life for the better. I, too, can express Divine Love by being compassionate and helpful.

Today, I open my awareness to any opportunity to be kind and compassionate. The impact of a simple act of caring never ceases to amaze me. I make a positive difference as I express Divine Love.

Whole

I am Wholeness and Life because I am Divine.

Wholeness and Life are Divine Ideas, innate attribute sof my Divine Identity. When I align my thinking and feeling natures with this Truth, I re-invigorate every level of my beingness – from my mind to every atom and cell of my body.

Myrtle Fillmore wrote: “God is the one perfect life flowing through us … God is the only Reality of us; all else is shadow.”

Self-awareness leads to self-knowledge. When I become aware of patterns or beliefs that are contrary to my innate Wholeness and Life, I do so with self-acceptance and NOT self-condemnation. When I am self-accepting, I can bring negative self-talk and doubts out of the shadows of the corners of my mind into the light of spiritual understanding. I can release or transform them as I claim Wholeness and Life now! I speak words of Truth, love and gratitude to my mind and body, “I am Wholeness and Life because I am Divine.” My mind and body respond to Wholeness and Life. I am renewed! I am Whole!

Meaning

I am Divine, creating a life of meaning and purpose.

Humankind continually questions the meaning of Life. Joseph Campbell summed it up when he said, “The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.”

Today I am grateful to be alive, to be on my life’s journey. I open my physical eyes to the beauty around me – the trees, the sum, the flowers, the people I meet. When I open my “spiritual eyes” I see life from a higher perspective. I know my Divinity and can wisely direct my path to manifest more and more good that is unique to me. I do not waste time worrying about what to do – I simply embrace the day and all the creative possibilities in the moment. I divinely, consciously and intentionally create a life full of meaning and purpose one decision at a time. A life full of good, blessings and win-win outcomes.  I am Divine, creating a life of meaning and purpose.

Remember

I remember I Am Divine Life and Love;

I claim health for myself and others.

Life on earth means things constantly change. The earth itself remains in motion as it rotates on its axis and orbits the sum. When I invest time in silent prayer, I remember that all things of Spirit remain constant and unchanged. Jesus’ life and ministry remind me that I, too, am Spirit. I live in the physical world, but I am not of it. Through my Christ Nature, I am the timeless Life and Love Spirit – I am God-Life and God- Love.

When someone I love passes on, I honor them in my thoughts and prayers. By remembering them, I keep the memory of them alive in this world. I also remind myself of the underlying, timeless Divine Life and Divine that unites and underlies us all.
